Weekly Round-Up

Last week was a busy one as we are in full-on practice mode for our Christmas concert! We look forward to presenting the concert to families on Friday at 9:30.

A lot of our classroom activities are Christmas themed right now.

We kicked off the week with our trip to RBG. We hope you were able to take a peek at the photos we posted!

Our sensory bins are filled with green and red rice. Little elves must have hid letters inside for us to find!

We created our own individual trees that we will put together to make a collaborative Christmas tree this week!

We have been learning the Nativity story and are co-creating it together too for our big bulletin board.

We have turned the dramatic centre into a Christmas bakeshop. This has required a lot of collaboration and team work! Lots of innovation, problem solving and communication required!

Playdough has been a huge hit this week. Thank you to Declan’s mommy for making us two batches of Christmas playdough. If anyone could make some for this week we would be very grateful!

Lots of friends have been busy “mailing” notes to Santa this week too!

This upcoming week we have many more Christmas activities planned! We love experiencing the magic through the eyes of our friends.

This week our letter is Ee.

Our sight word this week is Jesus.

Have a wonderful week!

Weekly Round-Up

How is it already December??!! It seemed like we blinked and November was over! December is a month filled with lots of excitement. We look forward to this joyous time with our class!

This week we learned lots about tallies. All of our friends should be able to show up to the number 5 as tallies. Home practice of this concept would be beneficial too!

We have been talking about length and comparing sizes. We have created Christmas trees where students had to cut the strips of paper to different lengths and then organize them from longest to shortest!

Our sensory bin right now is filled with “snow.” Hiding inside are letters and sight words to spy and read.

A favourite activity right now is “roll a letter or a sight word.” This is another great way to practice our letters and high frequency words.

Today is the first Sunday of Advent. We spent a lot of time this week talking about the season of Advent, creating crafts, singing songs and reading stories.

We look forward to our field trip tomorrow! A note was sent home in Mr. Zippy on Friday regarding preparing for the trip.

We can’t wait for a fun filled day!
