Weekday Round-Up

I hope everyone had a great weekend! They sure fill up fast at this time of year.

We chopped our Christmas tree today... it sure was chilly!

The girls chose the tree. It's a little Charlie-brownish. But they are super proud of it!

This week we did lots and lots of Christmas concert practice! The kiddies are so excited to get on stage and sing and dance their hearts out this Friday! I look forward to seeing you there!

We began a new round of math centres this week. Our bins include - Christmas stickering (matching a quantity to a numeral), building Christmas pictures using shape pattern blocks, shape and colour bingo and subitizing bingo!

These centres are a real hit!

We have been reading lots of Christmas nativity stories and learning the story of baby Jesus. We will work on creating a retell of the Christmas story bulletin board this week.

We have enjoyed Christmas Playdough this week ... a big thank you to all the moms that made and sent it in for us!

We began some Christmas crafting too! The kiddies have also wanted to turn the dramatic play centre into a Christmas shop,so they have been busy creating decorations and signs!

The shopping spree on Friday was a success! The kids loved shopping and wrapping gifts for their loved ones. A huge thank you to Mrs. Calla for coordinating the event for the school and to Mrs. Roache for helping us wrap presents in the classroom!

The next two weeks are gonna be busy ones. Christmas excitement will be high I'm sure!

The letter this week is Hh.

Have a great week everyone.

Week Day Round-Up

Happy December everyone! It's hard to believe it with these beautiful days we have had! We have enjoyed lots of outdoor learning and play this week as a result!

When indoors we have been participating in lots of journal writing, building and number and shape activities.

A favourite activity this week was creating marble mazes. This activity required lots of planning, perseverance and problem solving to make a sturdy maze that will work!

The boys and girls love sharing in the "share chair." Each day a few friends share where their best learning took place during activity time.

We have spent some time this week discussing Advent. We have learned that Advent is about waiting for the birth of Jesus. We created our own Advent wreaths and I have sent home prayers. Tomorrow before dinner, your child is encouraged to colour a candle flame on a purple candle and together say week one prayer.

A reminder to follow us on Twitter as I post pictures almost daily there!

Finally, this week we will focus on the letter E.

Have a wonderful week everyone!
