I hope everyone had a great PA day on Friday!
Last week our math focus was symmetry. Something is symmetrical when it is the same on both sides. We explored with a tool called a mira. The kids loved it... they said it was like magic!
We also learned a fun and easy to replicate at home game called “how many am I hiding.” I put out ten gems. I then hide some of them under my hand. The kiddies look at how many are left and problem
solve how man I am hiding. They then say how they know.
We have learned he story of Noah’s Ark. we have an ark and characters in the class. The kiddies have enjoyed acting out the story through play!
Thank you Ms. Hinton for drawing us this picture!
This week We participated in a science and technology workshop called Venture. It was put on by McMaster university. We learned about centre of gravity. The boys and girls created a robot named Rosie. Their task was to use the idea of centre of gravity to find ways in which to balance her. Lots of persistence and problem solving was demonstrated throughout his workshop!
We reviewed the diagraphs sh and ch and lots of journal writing too!
Thursday was freezie day. It was a hot day so this cool treat was much appreciated!
