Weekday Round-Up

We had a very exciting week in kindergarten! Halloween had everyone’s spirits high and we could feel the energy all week long!

Now that we are going into a new week, we respectfully ask if lunchbox treats can be limited to one or two treats and a gentle reminder that all treats must be peanut free. Thank you so much for your cooperation!

Halloween was lots of fun! We loved seeing everyone’s costumes and we all had a blast. We continued with the Halloween themed activities throughout the week too!

Lots of friends wanted to journal write about Halloween. Authentic writing is the best!

We worked on various STEM challenges this week. STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. These activities require lots of problem solving, perseverance, team work and communication!

How many cups high can you stack?

Can you make a marble maze?

We made Playdough monsters. Playdough is great from working on creativity and communication skills. Also, Playdough is great for fine motor. Strong hands get us ready for drawing and writing!

We continued learning about shapes this week too. Lots of hands on activities / games to support our learning!

We continued with counting activities too!

Our Letter was T, the sight word was the.

We also added the word to to the word wall as well. We focused lots on the reading strategy “Eagle Eye.”

This upcoming week the letter is Ii. The sight word will be “is.”

The sight words that should be practiced at home (Year Two friends especially) are:

See

So

And

At

An

Am

A

The

To

Is

Have a great week!!
