Weekly Round-Up

Last week may have been short... but we sure were busy!

We reflected and recorded the things we are thankful for. Everyone’s responses made us smile and are so heartwarming! They are displayed in our room and will be placed in our kindergarten scrapbooks.

We consolidated our math learning about patterning and created pattern worms to show our learning. We will bring them home next week!

We continue to work with numbers daily.

Jk friends would benefit from regular exposure of the numbers 0-5 at home. Counting sets, identifying the numeral and matching it to the set as well as printing the number.

SK friends should be doing this to the number 10. Some of us are even ready to go to 20!

We have been investigating apples through a number of different activities.

We also have learned the poem “Five Little Pumpkins” and have done lots of math and literacy activities around his poem. Have your child say it at home too! It’s great for oral communication practice!

We read a beautiful book this week called “How Full Is Your Bucket.” We learned that each of us has an invisible bucket. When our bucket is full, we feel great. When it's empty, we feel awful.

Here is more information about the concept of bucket filling:

This week we will start PAT time. Please refer to the note that was sent home last week for your child’s PAT day.

The letter this week is S.

Reviewing the letter and sound throughout the week at home would be beneficial too!

We are also going to start “sight word of the week.” This week the word is see!

SK families - while reading together at home... have your child hunt for this word in the stories you share!

We are looking forward to a great week ahead!

Some friends need their spare clothes changed out for the cooler weather (shorts to pants etc).

Also - a reminder that we should have splash pants for outdoor play!
